Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition: Fix Linux Mouse Rotation Sensitivity

The Problem

Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition is available as a native Linux game. However, rotation using middle mouse button + drag is too slow to be really useful. While the problem seems to be known https://steamcommunity.com/app/373420/discussions/0/451848855007709254/, there does not seem to be a widely-known solution yet.

A Simple Solution

To solve this, edit the configuration file to change the “mouse sensitivity”. Although that suggests all mouse sensitivity will be changed, it mainly applies to the rotation.

First exit the game and locate the directory of your savegames. Here, this is below the home directory: $HOME/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition/Player Profiles. Go to the subdirectory called like your profile and then open config.lsx with a sensible text editor. Find the following entry:

<node id="ConfigEntry">
    <attribute id="MapKey" value="MouseSensitivity" type="22" />
    <attribute id="Type" value="0" type="5" />
    <attribute id="Value" value="50" type="4" />
</node>

Change the value for the attribute tag with id="Value" to a higher number. Here, 600 works well. The entry might then look as follows:

<node id="ConfigEntry">
    <attribute id="MapKey" value="MouseSensitivity" type="22" />
    <attribute id="Type" value="0" type="5" />
    <attribute id="Value" value="600" type="4" />
</node>

Save the file and start the game to check if it works as wanted.
